Springfield extends state of emergency

SPRINGFIELD, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - City leaders in Springfield voted on the extension of their state of emergency Monday.

Leaders voted to extend their state of emergency until April 1st.

Mayor Ralph Hammond says this is the third time they've extended it and says it will continue to help with any emergency funding needs the city has.

Mayor Hammond says the state of emergency also helps crack down on those caught dumping debris illegally.

City officials believe it will be extended again.
