PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG) - The beginning of December is feeling more like October with highs getting into the upper 70's Saturday afternoon. Our average high for this time of year is 68 degrees.
Expect mild temperatures tonight, getting down into the low to mid 50's. We'll add a calm wind and high dewpoints into the mix for this evening, causing fog to develop overnight tonight and stick around for Sunday morning. The fog will lift as the sun continues to rise.
Sunday will be a very similar day as Saturday. Highs will be in the mid 70's under a mix of sun and clouds. You will also notice a bit of a stick in the air. Monday will be similar but a couple degrees warmer.
As we head into the middle part of the work week, things will change drastically. A very strong through of low pressure will bring a cold front into our area on Wednesday and stick around through Thursday. This will bring us our best chance for rain that we've had in a while. A few stray showers are expected late Tuesday, with the chances for rain increasing the closer we get to Thursday. Expect lows in the 40's and highs in the 50's.
Behind this front, a big chill! Friday will be a transition day, with our skies gradually clearing and highs in the mid 50's. But we will be waking up to the 30's on Saturday morning. Highs Saturday will struggle to reach 50 degrees! Models are hinting that Sunday morning could be even colder, with inland areas in the 20's! We will have to watch and see how this trough progresses.
Have a wonderful Sunday!
