MARIANNA, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The Sunland Center in Marianna kicked off the Christmas season with the annual Christmas parade Thursday afternoon.
Residents were joined in the parade by several groups, including school board members, the Marianna High School band and the Marianna Middle School band.
Organizers said the event is a great way to bring the Sunland community together.
"It shows the resilience of our staff. It's like a culmination of the hurricane kind of deeded our fall festival, but it did not dampen our spirits for this holiday season," Sunland Deputy Superintendent Adrian Abner said.
Following the parade, Sunland residents enjoyed the treats they gathered and acted out their favorite characters from the parade.
