PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG) - Soak up the sunshine we'll have Saturday! Despite a chilly start, we'll warm up into the low 60s. Lows will be on either side of 40 Saturday night. We won't be this warm again all of next week.
Clouds will race in Sunday (New Year's Eve) from the southwest and scattered showers are possible, especially the farther south you live with temperatures staying in the 50s. Bring a jacket to the evening festivities as we'll be in the 40s. A few light showers or drizzle can't be ruled out, but the heavy rain should stay offshore.
We'll wake up to the 30s New Year's Day with decreasing clouds. Despite some afternoon sun, we'll only climb into the mid 40s.
That's just the beginning of an Arctic air mass for Northwest Florida standards. We'll be stuck under 50° for most of next week with freezing temperatures a good bet even along the coast for several nights in a row starting Monday night.
