BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Get ready to start your engines we have a new business that is coming to our area.

Officials with the Bay Economic Development Alliance announce Suzuki Motor America will build an integration and test center in Panama City.

We're told the company is planning to build a facility on 20 acres of property off of Frankford Avenue and bring in customers to test new boats and other products.

“It’s not only important creating jobs and bringing capital to area, but we’re also going to be seeing an influx of visitors. They’ll be bringing in customers from throughout United States to come and visit Panama City where they will stay in our hotels and eat at our restaurants,” Bay Economic Development Alliance President, Becca Hardin said.

There is no word yet on when construction will begin, but we're told the company will start off with five employees and in 3 to 5 years could expand to 30. They may also open other operation facilities in the area.
