BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A local group of men and women in uniform are back in Panama City after a six-month-long deployment.
Family and friends of Tyndall Air Force Base's 325th Security Forces Squadron welcomed back their service members with open arms after they landed at Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport.
They served overseas and worked as law enforcement officers and defended air bases in the field.
"They'll get at least a couple weeks off, and we make sure to keep tabs on them and that reintegration goes well," Major Matthew Butler said. "Coming back from over there, sometimes there's new stressors along with relaxing."
After their leave is over, they'll go back to work at Tyndall.
One man even proposed to his girlfriend in the middle of the airport.
