"I went to Lynn Haven Elementary, but Southport is wonderful. It's a community school, I knew once I student taught here, this is where I wanted to be," Lewis said.
She has a passion for teaching kindergarten.
"I asked to be a kindergarten teacher, I love watching the babies go from not knowing most anything, or just a few letters, to by the end of the year putting the letters together, forming words and reading books," Lewis said.
Lewis keeps learning fun with engaging activities and games, rather than just paper and pencil work.
"I want them to not only have the love for learning, I want them to love school, but I also want them to have social skills as well, not just academics," Lewis said.
Southport's school motto is "Anchored in Excellence,"and Lewis carries that theme into her classroom every day.
