WALTON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A teenager is facing felony charges in connection with vehicle burglaries in Walton County.
On June 30th, Walton County Sheriff's Deputies had multiple reports of vehicle burglaries in the area of Scenic Gulf Drive. They say surveillance video from a home blocks away from one victim's home shows a shirtless, young male pulling on the door handle of a vehicle parked in the driveway.
Deputies say Rafael Cisneros, 14, was became a person of interest after a deputy patrolling the area noticed Cisneros playing basketball. The deputy says Cisneros was wearing clothing that matched the description of the suspect from the night of the burglaries.
Deputies say when confronted, Cisneros was shown the surveillance video. They say he told them, "You don't have me on video going in the truck." They say at that time all Cisneros had been told was a gun had been stolen from one of the vehicles, but did not describe the vehicle.
Investigators say that same day, Cisneros' father turned over the stolen gun.
Cisneros was charged with armed burglary and grand theft of a firearm, both felonies.
