Deputies were called to a home on Applewhite Street in Greenwood on Saturday morning after reports of a shooting.

When they arrived, they learned that two 15-year-old males were handling a 9mm handgun.

While one of the teens was attempting to remove the magazine, the gun accidentally fired, hitting the other teen in the jaw.

The teen was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The injured teen told deputies he had found the gun in a wooded area.
