Ground breaking took place today at A.L. Kinsaul park in Lynn Haven Wednesday for a new memorial garden. Organized by The Compassionate Friends of Bay County chapter, the garden will honor lost children, grandchildren, and brothers and sisters.

The project has been in the works for two-and-a-half years. In June, Lynn Haven city commissioners approved the site for the garden, which will be next to the kids playground.

Compassionate Friends chapter leader, Carol Ladouceur wants the garden to spread a message.

"There is hope. There is hope, there is life, there is laughter after the death of a loved one. And we can go on living our life, even though they're gone, but keeping their memory alive," Carol Ladouceur said.

Donations for the memorial garden can be placed through the chapter's Facebook page.
