The results are in for 3rd grade reading scores, and Bay County is up this year, despite losing a month of school to Hurricane Michael.

The Florida Department of Education released the 3rd grade Florida Standards Assessments results for Language Arts. Bay County saw a 4% increase over last year's scores. A passing grade is considered 3 or higher, and 61% of Bay District 3rd graders passed. This beats the state average of 58%.

Other storm impacted counties met or beat the state average. Calhoun County's pass rate is at 62% and Jackson County is at 58%.
