Threat made online by local student deemed not credible

BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Bay District Schools officials and law enforcement are looking into a threat made against Rutherford for Monday, August 26th.

According to the district's Facebook page, Rutherford Principal Coy Pilson sent an IRIS Alert out to parents.

In the alert, Pilson said a post was made on Instagram showing someone dancing around with BB guns. He said the student connected to the post had been found, and they do not believe the threat made against the school is credible.

Pilson also reminded parents to talk with their children about being mindful of what they post to social media.
