Good Thursday morning everyone!
It's a quiet start over the Panhandle with mainly clear skies this morning. Yet temperatures are actually a bit more mild this morning than yesterday! Much of that is due to a light wind to start the day from the southeast pumping up the warmth and humidity over our area.
Temperatures are starting out in the mid 60s for many this morning and you may be able to get away without the jackets! A few more clouds are expected to move into our skies as the day unfolds and those could be thick enough to block out our sunshine at times this afternoon. However, highs will still manage to warm nicely into the upper 70s for many, even near 80 degrees inland!
The warm front has lifted to our north already and with only warm and moist air to work with clouds should be all we see in our skies today. There's a chance as we head into the evening we could see a few stray showers develop as a cold front from the west starts to introduce a little extra lift into our skies. The best spot to catch one of these sunset showers would be to the west over Walton and Okaloosa Counties. They'll be spotty and very light in nature this evening but will start to spread out over the Panhandle overnight.
The better chance for rain comes tomorrow as the cold front gradually works its way through the Southeast. We'll see a few scattered showers possible through the morning on Friday with an eventual weak line of rain passing through heading into the afternoon and evening from west to east across the Panhandle. We'll likely only pick up a tenth or two on Friday, but may add a few more waves on Saturday not amounting to much.
For today, mostly to partly sunny skies with breezy southeasterly winds and highs in the mid 70s on the coast to upper 70s near 80 inland. Your 7 Day Forecast will bring in the rain chances for tomorrow, with a few lingering showers possible on Saturday.
