Good Thursday morning everyone!

It's a quiet start on radar over the Panhandle despite clouds increasing this morning. Skies may look a bit ominous at times throughout the morning, but we're not expecting any rain until later in the day over NWFL. So go ahead and take the umbrella with you, especially Walton and Okaloosa Counties as we may be battling some scattered storms on the way home from work and school later today.

Otherwise, it's another mild and muggy start with temperatures in the mid to upper 60s and rising due to the clouds increasing. We'll still manage a warm day ahead, so go ahead and dress comfortably. Highs today reach up to near 80 degrees under a mainly cloudy sky and as winds turn a bit more southerly by the afternoon, it'll start to feel more humid as well.

That added moisture will funnel into an approaching cold front poised to bring some scattered showers and possible thunderstorms into the forecast by mid to late afternoon. We'll expect to see those storms developing over Walton and Okaloosa Counties later today as the cold front moves in from the west. As the cold front nears into the evening the scattered showers and rumbles of thunder will spread a bit more to the east.

Eventually by the overnight, most of the rain will have passed to the southeast, however our skies will remain cloudy tonight and into the day tomorrow. We'll still carry a chance for some post frontal light showers or sprinkles through the morning on Friday.

Temperatures will be funky heading into the overnight and throughout the day on Friday. The warmest time of the day on Friday may occur before sunrise as the cooler air continues to filter in throughout the daytime. Temperatures around sunrise may start in the mid to upper 60s and could drop a bit further down into the lower 60s to some upper 50s throughout the day. We'll need to dress warmly tomorrow!

Bottom Line...

For today, mostly to mainly cloudy skies with a few scattered showers or thunderstorms developing west of Hwy79 by the mid to late afternoon. Highs today reach up to near 80°. Your 7 Day Forecast brings the cooler air in for Friday and on into the upcoming weekend with more sunshine opening back up by Saturday.
