Good Thursday morning everyone!
It's a quiet start on radar with just a few clouds cruising by our skies this morning. We should manage a decent sunrise today among the passing clouds.
Otherwise, it's another warm and humid start with temperatures well into the 70s in many spots, especially along the coast. Highs today reach the toasty upper 80s to low 90s across the Panhandle. With dew points well into the sultry 70s as well, if you don't hit the 90s on the thermometer along the coast, you most certainly will be feeling like it as the heat index reaches the low to mid 90s today.
We'll see some rain chances return today, but it's not looking like a great chance. As we warm up into the midday we'll only generate some small, stray and brief, passing showers or storms. Some storms, while short-lived, could produce heavy rain, gusty winds or small hail.
While we have plenty of moisture and lift(a frontal boundary to our west, daytime heating and the sea breeze) there's too much dry air aloft working against developing any large storm systems. However, the roughly 30% of the Panhandle that does catch one of the stray showers could have a quick down pour for 15-20min before it moves on. There's a slightly better chance for that 30% storm east of HWY231 between 10am and 5pm.
The drier air moves out tomorrow, and deeper moisture returns as the upper level low to our west pushes the front further into the Southeast. That will lead toward better chances for scattered storms throughout the day tomorrow.
We'll see this system gradually pull away and the front will sink to our southeast through Saturday helping to draw down rain chances and humidity. Yet we'll still get quite summery hot this weekend.
For today, partly sunny skies with a small, stray and brief, shower possible but not likely with rain chances around 30%. Highs today reach the mid 80s on the coast to low 90s inland, with feels like temperatures for all in the low to mid 90s. Your 7 Day Forecast brings in one more day of scattered storms before we see the rain chances diminishing throughout the weekend.
