Good Thursday morning everyone!

It's a mainly quiet start with just a few stray showers developing around Hwy231 and to the southeast. Our better chances of seeing scattered showers or thunderstorms today will be southeast of Hwy231 to the Forgotten Coast.

Otherwise, it's warm and humid, but there's a sign we're seeing some changes in that department this morning. Winds are shifting to the north as the cold front moves across Hwy231 this morning. That will gradually help to bring down our humidity today. However, it'll be a slow process and many of us are still waking up downright humid.

As the front continues to progress toward the Forgotten Coast this morning, we'll see more of our winds shifting to the west or north throughout the day. The only exception may be the coast where the afternoon sea breeze shifts winds back to the south, keeping some locations feeling a bit sticky.

For those lucky enough to be further away from the coast and more northwesterly in the Panhandle, you'll start to feel less humid today! That should help with the afternoon heat making it feel a bit more tolerable. However, it's going to be a hot day overall as sunshine can heat up dry air very efficiently. Highs today reach the low 90s for many who see the front pass to their east.

For those out ahead of the front, or further east and southeast like the Forgotten Coast, you'll still be warm and humid and ripe for a few afternoon scattered showers or rumbles of thunder. I've got my money on areas like Mexico Beach, to Wewa and maybe Blountstown, on down to St. George Island for a chance at rain today.

The front looks like it will stall out heading into the weekend over the Forgotten Coast and Big Bend of the Panhandle. That will continue to bring small scattered rain chances to the forecast for Gulf and Franklin Counties on Friday, and maybe Saturday as well before the front clears east on Sunday.

Bottom Line...

For today, mostly sunny skies with a chance for a scattered shower or storm east and southeast of Hwy231 on down to the Forgotten Coast.

Highs today reach the toasty low 90s for most.

However, with winds shifting a bit to the north today, we'll see humidity gradually fall and the heat should be a bit more tolerable.

Your 7 Day Forecast features a hot but mostly to mainly sunny streak ahead into the weekend, with a few more stray showers for the Forgotten Coast.
