BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A delegation of top Florida business leaders are in town to tour some of the still-devastated areas left by Hurricane Michael... and they mean business.
Among the stops Tuesday were Port St. Joe, Mexico Beach, and Tyndall Air Force Base.
CEOs, chairmen, chairwomen, and other executives joined forces to push for more public and private investments to the area.
Conversations surrounded the long-term recovery of the area by focusing on its economic needs as well as its assets that can be leveraged to bring businesses that will stimulate the local economy.
Karen Moore, Founder and CEO of Moore Communications, said, "What we know if the voice of business matters. And so if we have a collective voice of senior leaders in our state saying, 'You need to invest resources now,' I think our voice gets heard."
Tuesday night and Wednesday, political leaders like Congressman Neal Dunn and Florida's CFO Jimmy Patronis will join the group.
