Traffic disruptions possible along Bay and Jackson County roads

Drivers will encounter traffic disruptions on the following state roads in Bay and Jackson counties as crews perform construction and maintenance activities.
Bay County:
State Road (S.R.) 390 from Baldwin Road to Jenks Avenue – Anticipate alternating, daytime lane closures on Northshore Road approaching the S.R. 390 intersection Monday, June 8 through Friday, June 12. In addition, nighttime lane closures are planned Monday, June 8 and Tuesday, June 9 from 8:30 p.m. until 6 a.m. During these times, construction crews will be repaving the Northshore Road travel lanes. Traffic flaggers will be used to safely direct drivers through the work zone.
S.R. 390 from Jenks Avenue to S.R. 77 – The southbound lane of S.R. 390 will be closed between Maine and Caroline avenues Tuesday, June 9 from 8:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. Crews will install a temporary barrier wall to support future construction in this area. In addition, drivers may encounter intermittent daytime and nighttime lane closures on S.R. 390 and side streets near the Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Indiana avenue intersections. Earthwork, paving, and utility relocation efforts will continue at these locations for the remainder of the spring and into summer.
S.R. 390 from 23rd Street to Baldwin Road – Crews plan to work off the roadway this week to continue relocating above and underground utilities. No traffic impacts are anticipated. The speed limit is reduced to 35 mph and provisions are in place to double speeding fines while workers are present.
East Avenue over Watson Bayou Bridge Replacement –East Avenue will be closed for new bridge construction. Additional improvements include reconstructing adjacent roadway approaches with earthwork, drainage, asphalt paving, guardrail, fencing and signing and pavement markings. Motorists will utilize marked detour routes through spring 2020.
S.R. 77 from Southport to Highway 20 Road Resurfacing - Motorist will encounter alternating single lane closures for road milling and resurfacing through mid June for road resurfacing activities.
S.R. 368A (Collegiate Dr.) from West of Moody Avenue to 23rd Street Road Widening – Motorist should expect intermittent daytime lane closures from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. for road widening activities. These closures will continue until the project is complete.
U.S. 98/Tyndall Air Force Base (AFB) Flyover - This project will elevate the U.S. 98 travel lanes above the Tyndall AFB main gate at Tyndall Drive/Airey Avenue and above Louisiana Avenue. Crews anticipate working off the roadway this week to continue relocating adjacent underground utilities. No lane closures are anticipated.
Jackson County:
S.R. 166 Caverns Road and Russell Road Construction of New Turn Lane – Motorists will encounter a detour at Russell Road while crews install storm water pipe and drainage structures in the construction area. Workers will be present on the project, and caution is advised in the work zone.
S.R. 71 from U.S. 90 in Marianna to C.R. 165 (Basswood Road) – Motorists will encounter daytime lane closures on Tuesday, June 9, and Wednesday June 10 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. while crews perform pavement operations.
All planned construction activities are weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to pay attention to the reduced speed limit when traveling through the construction area.
