Troy fraternity members "Walk Hard" to Panama City Beach

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Some Troy University fraternity members went for more than just a stroll outside this week.

Members of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity from Troy University wrapped up their Walk Hard for Heroes walk Wednesday afternoon.

The walk started last Friday at the Troy University quad before they made the more than 128-mile journey that ended in Pier Park Wednesday.

The walk is an effort to raise money and awareness for wounded warriors.

Members of the fraternity also say they want to demonstrate they’re committed to positive spring break activities for a higher purpose.

Michael Ingram a Support Team Member said, “We really want to give up our spring break because Jesus sacrificed everything for us so we’ve come alongside Jeep and his ministry and he supports wounded warriors and really loves on them, shows them that they’re loved and welcomed and really saves a lot of their lives.”

The fraternity is supporting Jeep Sullivan’s Wounded Warrior Outdoor Adventures out of Bonifay and raised more than $70,000 this year.
