Good Tuesday morning everyone!
Meteorologist Ryan Michaels showing our WJHG Tower Camera this morning.
It's a quiet start on radar right now despite some thick clouds cruising our skies to start the day. Some storms are not too far off in the Gulf this morning, however. We'll see a few passing showers possible during the morning drive, especially from Hwy231 to Hwy20 and to the southeast on down to the Forgotten Coast.
Temperatures are also pretty pleasant as we are waking up in the low to mid 60s. Unless you are susceptible to feeling chilly, you could probably get away without the jacket this morning. We'll stay mainly cloudy today, but despite the lack of sunshine, we'll still warm into the mild upper 70s this afternoon.
After a round of showers in the morning passes through, where most of the light to moderate showers occur from PC to Apalach, we'll get another shot at a few stray ones along and to the north of Hwy20 and east of Hwy231 this afternoon. Rain chance will run about 20-30% east of Hwy231 throughout the day today, and maybe only 10% to the west of that highway.
This rain is developing along a weak frontal boundary passing through and mainly across a trough in the Northeastern Gulf. But the front will help clear out the rain chance and the clouds as we head toward sunset tonight. Tomorrow looks to be filled with more sunshine and still mild temperatures in the upper 70s!
Our next rain chance doesn't arrive until late in the day Thursday on into Friday morning with the passage of a bigger front that will bring back a seasonal chill to the weekend.
For today, mainly cloudy skies with a few passing showers, mainly east of Hwy231. Highs today remain mild in the upper 70s. Your 7 Day Forecast brings in more sunshine for tomorrow and keeps us running mild through the midweek.
