Two people have been arrested after an attempted home invasion in Panama City on Saturday.

According to the Panama City Police Department, officers responded to 1018 Spring Avenue in reference to a discharged weapon.

Officers say a white man had entered the home where he pulled out a firearm and tried to rob the homeowner. The man fired multiple rounds inside and outside the home and left the scene in a dark vehicle. During the investigation, police identified the white man as Adriane Melanson and detectives learned that the black vehicle was owned and driven by Markell Shazie.

Melanson was charged with home invasion robbery, shooting into an occupied dwelling, aggravated assault, carrying a concealed firearm, and felony criminal mischief. Shazier was charged with principal to the home invasion robbery, shooting into an occupied dwelling, aggravated assault, and criminal mischief.
