The turtle was named Jaime Lannister, after the Game of Thrones character, because he was missing part of his front flipper.

Jaime had a few hooks in his flipper as well.

He was rescued from the Okaloosa Pier on October 5 after people noticed he was unable to dive.

All of the hooks were taken from Jaime's flipper and he was rehabilitated.

Jaime took off quickly in front of a large crowd.

"It's amazing always to have a big crowd but particularly during the winter you don't usually see such large audiences, so it was nice to have so many people out here to see Jaime go back to the Gulf and see the good work that we do, because this is obviously what we are working for so it's always nice to pass on the joy of this to everybody else," said Stranding Coordinator Lauren Albrittain.
