Two suspects arrested for allegedly breaking into occupied vacation properties

OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) Two suspects involved in a rash of vacation property burglaries this week are now in custody.

The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office says Amanda Hunter, 33, of Valparaiso and Derek Neilsen, 27, of Fort Walton were arrested for allegedly breaking into several rental properties wile visitors here on vacation were asleep inside.

Deputies say Hunter recently worked for an area vacation rental company and had access to electronic key codes.

The two were spotted Wednesday, June 5 after deputies learned Hunter and Neilsen were in a stolen vehicle. During a pursuit the two crashed the car and were then taken into custody.

Hunter and Neilsen are both facing multiple charges.
