UPDATE: Victim ID'd in Springfield death

Springfield Police have released more information about a death at a home Monday night on East 8th Street.
Investigators say Lorraine Levins, 28, is who was killed. Police said in a news release that Eugearian Eugene Sharp, 37, confessed to killing her when questioned by investigators.
When police arrived they say they found Levins "in a pool of blood, deceased." Springfield Police did point out in the most recent news release that it has not released a cause of death in the case.
Emergency Medical Services did respond to the address Monday night at 10:45 in relation to a gunshot wound, but Springfield PD said it would be up to the medical examiner to officially determine cause of death. The autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.
According to an arrest affidavit obtained by WJHG/WECP, Springfield investigators wrote Sharp "admitted to stabbing the victim about her face and head several times with a knife." Investigators also wrote "investigation of the crime scene revealed a spent shell casing in the bedroom where the victim was located...The defendant was interviewed for follow-up questions and admitted to actually shooting the victim with a handgun."
Sharp is being held on an open count of murder as well as a charge of being a felon in possession of a gun.
