Volunteers serving food on Easter

LYNN HAVEN, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - While some spend their Easter Sunday worshiping, others spend it serving.

Culinary Catering 365 from Shalimar and a squadron from Eglin Air Force Base came to Lynn Haven Sunday to provide the members of Lynn Haven United Methodist Church with lunch after their Easter service.

Everyone serving food was a volunteer who just wanted to help out a church in need on their Easter.

Heyward Mckenzie, owner of Culinary Catering 365 and Executive Chef at Shalimar United Methodist Church, said, "Being able to see the joy and the smiles and the togetherness of the people once we get here and we're, you know, we're showing that we care, it's really the joy we get out of it is how happy they are."

Mckenzie first became involved with Lynn Haven UMC after Hurricane Michael when they donated food to the church.
