PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - For the first time ever, the Walk to Cure Arthritis came to Bay County.
The goal is to raise awareness and money to help develop new treatments for the condition.
On Saturday, around 40 people attended the one mile walk or 5K in Aaron Bessant Park.
Event coordinator Andre Smith says around $3,000 was raised all for a good cause.
"This is what Arthritis Foundation does. They're a non for profit, but they are always reinvesting into their research, drug research and their patient advocacy," said Smith.
Smith also says the group plans on doing it again next year.
