WALTON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - There's a new push to improve people's health in Walton County.

Wednesday, Walton County health officials met at the Walton Community Health Improvement Partnership.

They were divided into four teams - healthy people, healthy places, healthy homes, and healthy behaviors.

Each team came up with a strategic plan to improve health over the next two years.

Health officer and administrator Holly Holt says it's important that these teams come together.

"Every partner has a key part to play in our strategic plan, some of the initiatives that we've come up with today being in all the different partners that we have and their input and what they feel like needs to be done to improve the quality of life here in Walton County," said Holt.

The next WCHIP meeting will be March 18th at the Department of Health building in DeFuniak Springs.

The public is invited to attend.
