WALTON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The Walton County Board of Commissioners is working to clean up the Choctawhatchee Bay.
Tuesday at the meeting, commissioners voted to get an analysis of the bay to pinpoint what issues need fixing.
Residents spoke on the topic and many feel this is an issue which needs to be addressed immediately. Commissioners say this analysis is the first step in the right direction to clean up the Bay.
"We have identified five particular locations that we will do some additional monitoring of. What we're trying to determine is where is most of the pollution or whatever is impacting the Bay?" said Walton County Commissioner, William "Bill" Chapman.
Commissioners also say they're concerned with the runoff into the Bay coming from neighboring counties.
