Walton County sets date for medical marijuana workshop

WALTON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - In the last election, Floridians passed a new law bringing medical marijuana to the state. Now, the question is where it is appropriate to place these facilities?

At February's Walton County commission meeting, the board approved a 90-day temporary moratorium on the growing, cultivating and dispensing of medical marijuana in the county.

The temporary moratorium gives commissioners time to discuss land use regulations for these facilities.

At Tuesday's meeting, the board agreed on a set date for a workshop to further clarify what they plan to do.

That workshop has been scheduled for April 11th.
