Friends, parents and other family members were invited to the school cafeteria to see the displays created by the students and the persona of the historical figure they chose.
The choices come from a list provided by the school. All the work was done as part of their regular classwork to ensure that they had all the materials available to create their character costumes and display boards.
The project which included researching the subject matter and the development of the theme satisfies one of the school standards.
Second-grade teachers Tebbie Marchi and Amber Hart were proud of the student's accomplishments saying "They've done research , they've really gotten into their character, into the famous Americans and they've learned a lot. It's just a show of their hard work and the effort they've put into it and just for them to enjoy it and hopefully gain the love of history that we want to instill in them".
Even though there were no prizes involved the students were very excited to faithfully represent their chosen characters and show off their research and acting skills.
