Veterans Day Freedom Celebration at Capt. Anderson's Marina
More than 350 veterans and their families attended a Freedom Celebration at Capt. Anderson's Marina which included a special gift for all of the attendees.
The ceremony included Neysa Wilkins singing the national anthem and a roll call of the veterans by service and theater of service was conducted recognizing the veterans and the roles they take defending our country.
Retired Navy Chief Alex Semmler read a poem entitled "Old Glory" which brought tears to the eyes of many of the attendees.
After the ceremony, the veterans and their families were treated to a free dolphin encounter aboard two of Capt. Anderson's boats.
A Vietnam Vet Louie Jardim and his wife Catherine were very thankful saying "Captain Anderson's does a terrific job with having the guys go on this cruise or along the island and they've been fantastic, big supporters of veterans."
Many of the veterans and their families make this celebration and cruise an annual outing.
