2020 Pro Watercross National Tour kicks off
The 2020 Pro Watercross National Tour kicked off Saturday morning on the beach in front of Sharky's Beachfront restaurant with around 100 riders competing. Tents and jet skis lined the beach and the competition heated up with pro riders taking to the waves today. Competitors came in from all over the globe, and riders ranged from young teens to adults.
“Today's been good. We are having a lot of fun down here in Panama. It's pretty flat surf conditions, which is not ideal for a lot of us. We really wish it was probably three or four feet surf, but it makes for a little bit higher speed racing which was pretty fun to watch. It's really good. The team is doing really well. You've got a lot of young people and newer guys racing this year, so we are having fun,” said Broward Motorsports rider, James Wilson.
Sunday, the amateur riders will take to the waves starting at 8:45 a.m. As the tour kicks off, these riders will be competing all summer all over the united states with the world championships happening over halloween weekend in Naples, FL.
Another weekend of baseball out at the Panama City Beach Sports Complex.
