2020 Pro Watercross National Tour kicks off this weekend
The 2020 Pro Watercross National Tour is kicking off this weekend with about 100 riders heading out to the beach in front of Sharkey's to show off their skills. The event was postponed due to COVID-19 and the beach being closed, but after nearly a year of planning, it is all finally happening.
“They'll be out back doing up to 100 mph on jet skis. There will be a freestyle section where they will be doing backflips on jet skis and all kinds of impressive things. We are just thrilled to be able to host the event. 2:30/3:00 o'clock on Saturday is when they will host the awards ceremony for the pro racers. On the other side of Sharkey's, there is a big lot where there will be parking and several semis of racing teams and trailers. It's going to be a great experience,” said Sharkey’s marketing manager, Grant Wittstruck.
The events for the pro riders will begin Saturday morning at 9:15 a.m. and the amateur riders will begin at 8:45 a.m. on Sunday. they will be following social distancing guidelines, while also providing hand sanitizing stations around the beach and viewing area.
