Arnold gets two new volleyball head coaches Tuesday
There's a change for the Arnold volleyball program as of Tuesday. Marlins A.D. Rick Green telling us Madi Wichterman
has stepped down to go back to school and pursue her masters.
So coach Green has hired co-head coaches, with the introduction of thatpair coming in the school's media center Tuesday evening.
Those two new coaches are Alan Clements, who is Nashville born, a veteran coach with Division Two and Juco experience.
And Danielle Hayes, who played D-2 volleyball and moved on to coach in high school in Pennsylvania, and more recently, coached the Emerald Coast club team in our area.
Coach Clements impressed with the turnout when given the chance to meet with players and parents as part of that introduction Tuesday.
"They (the players and their parents) had one day notice to come here, they just found out about this meeting yesterday. And we've got 31 girls here and probably 60 parents. And just to see the excitement, the enthusiasm, and the expectations, it's a little bit scary. But you know that's why we're here. Coaches are trying to get people to the next level. That's our job, we are excited.
Coach Wichterman, an Arnold alum who played at West Florida, spent two years as the Marlins head coach,w ith an overall record of
29-20 and two state playoff appearances, losing the first round each time to Wakulla.
