Arnold set to introduce its new boys basketball head coach

The Arnold Marlins are set to introduce their new boys basketball head coach to the players and boosters of that program Wednesday.
That new coach is Josh Laatsch, who comes west after spending a year as an assistant on Mosley's bench.

Josh Laatsch set to become Arnold's new head basketball coach after one year as an assistant at Mosley.

Arnold A.D. Rick Green telling us he's hired coach Laatsch away from Mosley where he spent last season as an assistant coach under Mike Memmen. Coach Laatsch was also Mosley's golf coach.

Josh born and raised in Birmingham, he played high school ball under his father, a veteran coach of three decades in that region.

He was good enough to land a basketball scholarship at the University of West Florida, where he got his degree. While there, he met a girl from this area, and they came back east after graduating in 2017.

He will be introduced at Arnold Wednesday at noon in the school's Media Center, and then have to dive right into the summer basketball season which gets started in early June.
