Arnold weightlifters get their championship rings Tuesday

PANAMA CITY BEACH, FL (WJHG/WECP) Some Arnold student athletes are now sporting some pretty impressive jewelry, thanks to being a part of the State Championship weightlifting team there.

Weightlifting coach Josh Flaig gathering the 17 girls that competed on the Arnold weightlifting team this year, and presenting all 17 with their State Championship rings Tuesday.

Arnold winning the team title at the state championship it hosted in February, the first time a girls weightlifting team in Bay County has won a state title.

A total of 6 Arnold lifters made it to State, with four of them winning medals including sophomore Sana Habib winning the 119 class.

And the other state champ, junior Emily Bennett winning the title in 139 class, .

Coach Flaig saying he's "super proud of the work the girls put in over the past two years. They practiced every single day after school and showed up at 6 a.m. during the summer. These girls are getting to see first-hand when you work really hard for something."
