PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Arnold High School has been on the hunt for new coaches this year, first with football and now with basketball.
The Marlins chose Josh Laatsch, a former Mosley assistant and introduced him to staff and players this afternoon.
Laatsch says former head coach Bobby Britton who resigned at the end of April has been extremely helpful during the transition.
But taking on his former head coach Mike Memmrn is looming in the upcoming season and there's nothing like a little friendly competition!
Laatsch said, "It's gonna be tough because we've built a lifelong bond and going to work with him every day and talking basketball and talking life, being so close, it's going to be tough in that regard. But I can't wait, it's going to be really fun, he's already started the trash talk so, you know how that goes. But it's going to be awesome to play against them."
The team will start summer ball pretty quick.
A handful of practices over the next few days and then they travel over to Poplar Springs Monday for three games.
