BAY POINT, FL (WJHG/WECP) It is just about time to see those new greens! And that happens Saturday.
Bay Point's Nicklaus course has been closed since late June so they could take out the old greens and install new ones with Tifeagle Bermuda grass greens, at a cost of about half a million.
Now those new greens are ready to play, and the course will reopen Saturday!
"It will be 107 total days that the course was closed under renovations for the full till greens renovations." says Bay Point Golf G.M. Ryan Mulvey. "We converted the golf course grass on the greens to Tifeagle Bermuda grass. As you can tell they've come in awesome, they look spectacular, the whole golf course looks spectacular. You know no one's played on it since June 24th. We've got all new greenside bunkers, we just pine straw on the entire golf course. So it is just absolutely spectacular out here right now."
Saturday's reopening is a four team tournament, 100 bucks a player, a few teams still available, so contact the pro shop if interested. Sunday another tournament, then open to everyone come Monday.
