Our area has six area teams in the 1A class playing Friday night in round one playoff games, or region semifinals.

Two games involving local teams going head to head. Count the Chipley at Blountstown game as one of those two.

Chipley is the runner up in district four with a 3-7 overall record. Blountstown, with an 8-2 mark, the champs of district three.

The latter coming off a convincing win at Vernon last week, that one of six games this season in which those Tigers scored 30 or more points.

Another one of those six, a game back in September in which Blountstown beat Chipley 42-8, so these two are familiar with each other going into Friday nights playoff game. Greg Jordan says his guys know that first game means nothing at this point.

"Well it's single elimination from this point forward and our kids understand the importance of practicing and getting ready. We played Chipley in week three but they're a completely different team and we are too. That was almost two months ago. We watched the film, the schemes may be a little bit similar but both teams have come a long way since week three."

That game in Blountstown set for 7:30, and is one of several we'll feature on Friday Night Overtime.
