Call it an interesting first taste of what it's like for Mosley and FSU alum Chase Seiffert to play a PGA Tour event as a PGA Tour card holder!

Chase shot a two under 68 last Thursday in round one of the event at the Greenbrier. He then shot a one under 69 Friday. That left him tied for 68th and by one shot, off the cut line. So no payday in his first tournament event of the season.

Still, as he made his way towards this week's stop in Jackson, Mississippi, Chase told me he gains something from every event he plays!

"It was a great experience even though the week didn't go exactly as I planned." Chase told me. "But it's cool because just being around, rubbing shoulders with guys I've been watching for years. And to compete against them, you know I'm excited about the rest of the year I really am. I didn't play all that great but my game is still in a good spot going forward."

Joaquin Niemman winning that event getting his first tour victory, perhaps Chase will soon land his.

As for last week's tournament, Chase a victim of the Tour's new cut policy, top 65 and ties. Last year it was top 70 and ties playing into the weekend. Chase taking that in stride though.

"You know earlier in the week I had a converstation about it to another player and you know we both liked the idea, we think it's a great thing. It's just a little bit ironic that after talking about it I got hit by it. But no I think in the end it's gonna be a great thing. If I'm playing like I'm supposed to play I shouldn't have to worry about that in the end. Hopefully just a one time, little thing here that it clipped me."

Practice rounds Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday for Chase as he works to familiarize himself with the Country Club of Jackson course.
