Four Blountstown baseball players sign together

BLOUNTSTOWN, FL (WJHG/WECP) Friday was a rather big day for the seniors at Blountstown High School. The city of Blountstown hosting a parade for them.

Four Blountstown baseball players sign Friday

And before that got started, four of coach Emory Horne's baseball players signed scholarship offers. The four choosing to wait for the right time so they could sign together, and today worked perfectly.

Those four signees, Jace Porter, Sway Rives, Clark Kelley and Javon Pride. Jace and Sway are headed to Andrews College come August. Kelley is bound for Thomas University, and Javon is off to Webber. These four losing the bulk of their senior seasons, but some consolation knowing their baseball days are not over!

"This season we only got ten games in." Coach Horne told us. "They've overcome a lot of adversity. In a positive aspect I guess it gets them ready for life. There's a lot of adversity in life they've got to face."

"It teaches you to be tough." says senior Jace Porter. "Life is tough and tough people survive and you've just got to keep rolling with the punches no matter the cards that you get. Every kid's dream is maybe to go on to the next level and play ball. And with the whole virus and everything going on it just feels great to get out here with the community and my teammates and finally get it official, you know what I'm saying."
