GSTAAD, Switzerland (WJHG/WECP) - Alexa Guarachi's tennis dreams continue to come true this month.
Just weeks after qualifying for her first Wimbledon doubles draw with Erin Routliffe, the former South Walton state champion and Alabama alumnus is now making her first appearance in a WTA Final.
Playing alongside Californian Desirae Krawczyk at the Swiss Open in Gstaad, the tandem rallied from three broken serves in the first set to beat Spaniards Sílvia Soler Espinosa and Sara Sorribes Tormo 1-6, 6-2, 10-5 in Saturday's semifinal.
Sunday morning, Guarachi and Krawczyk go for the win against Timea Bacsinszky and Lara Arruabarrena at approximately 6 a.m. central time.
Arruabarrena is the highest ranked player in the match, hailing from Spain and ranking 46th in the world with a 15-11 this season.
Guarachi is ranked 114th in the world rankings.
