MARIANNA, Fla (WJHG/WECP) - The Chipola Lady Indians basketball team's looking ahead to the start of conference play in a couple of nights.
Both Chipola teams in fact travel east over to Tallahassee to take on the Eagles.
Coach Franklin's squad will be playing a third game without one of it's sophomore starters Nana Sule who's stuck in her native Nigeria, working to renew a visa to return and finish at Chipola and beyond.
The Lady Indians also dealing with a bit of an injury bug so far this season, yet has managed to post an 11-4 overall mark.
Still their coach knows, they are up against it, so to speak, as these all important league games begin.
"You know when we had everybody healthy they were extremely confident," Greg Franklin, Chipola women's basketball coach said. "You could just see it, it was clicking, clicking, clicking. But they're looking around right now saying 'who's gonna step up? Who's gonna play this different role and how are they gonna do at that role?' So we're in January and we're trying to find ourself. And that's a scary thing. But also if everything will come back and be in place, I don't have any qualms with saying we'll be really, really good."
The Tallahassee women coming off a loss at Gulf Coast Saturday, the TCC men beat the Commodores.
