Longtime Gadsden County coach Robert Jackson dies

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Legendary Greensboro and West Gadsden coach Robert Jackson passed away Sunday following a battle with cancer at age 72.

Jackson coached football for 28 years, winning 167 games before retirement in 2008. He also coached boys basketball, girls basketball, and softball, spending 36 years in the Gadsden County school system.

A Florida A&M graduate and Tallahassee native, Jackson was inducted into the Gadsden County Hall of Fame in 2018.

A service will be held Saturday at noon at West Gadsden Middle School.
