Panama City, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - North Bay Haven introduced Daniel Barefield as baseball head coach Thursday evening, but the formal introduction to family and players wasn't all that necessary.
North Bay Haven's new baseball coach Daniel Barefield introduced at the school with his family by his side Thursday.
Barefield takes over after three years running the Buccaneers junior varsity team, replacing outgoing varsity coach Bryan Normand.
"I'm very excited, you know this will be my first varsity head coaching position,' Barefield said. "To be able to put my imprint on something, and take the field as the head coach, I'm very excited and looking forward to the season. I've been with these kids for three years. The 9th graders when I started are seniors, so those kids have been around me their whole high school careers."
Barefield, on top of running the JV program, stepped in to guide the Bucs' summer program after Normand was let go.
