North Bay Haven suspends head football coach after Sunday practice
North Bay Haven's football team will have to practice and play this week without the help of head coach Andy Siegal.
After a 28-0 loss to Wewahitchka on Friday, Siegal had his team practice Sunday.
The Florida High School Athletic Association has a strict rule about any kind of practice session on Sundays, as does Bay County District Schools.
After being notified about that possibility from a source close to the program, WJHG Sports Director Scott Rossman called North Bay Haven A.D. Kevin Jacobs Monday, who looked into the matter.
Jacobs confirmed to us Monday night that indeed the team did practice Sunday, with a key North Bay Haven player sustained an injury during it that we've been told is a broken collarbone.
According to Jacobs, Siegal has bee suspended for at least this week, until a full investigation conducted by Jacobs is is complete. North Bay Haven has already self-reported the infraction to the FHSAA, which could impose its own penalties.
