Call it showdown number two for the men's teams of Northwest Florida and Chipola. Those two will meet Wednesday night on the latter's floor. The Indians coming off a win at TCC, the Raiders coming off a home win over Gulf Coast.
That leaving Northwest at 6-0 in Conference play, a game and a half ahead of the second place Indians who are 4-1. That lone league loss coming in Niceville on a couple of weeks ago.
Raiders head coach Steve DeMeo telling us this Monday as his team prepares to head east in a couple of nights!
"You know Chipola is a team, that name resonates nationally, as well as in our state and in our league. And our guys are excited to go over there and play them in front of a hostile crowd. You know at this point we're 6-0 in the league and I think we're heading in the right direction. We added Ludgey Debaut back, he was out two months with a stress fracture. He's played in our last two games and has been very good. And we'll start playing him a lot more as we move forward from here on out."
Debaut is a 6-10 sophomore center from the island of Guadalupe. That game Wednesday night at Chipola set for 7:30. The women's game will start at 5:30.
