Rutherford prepares for game with Port St. Joe
What's next for the Rutherford football team as it looks to try and grow under third year coach Loren Tillman!
The Rams are 1-3 heading into a sort-of home game Friday night with Port St. Joe. That game will be played at Bozeman's stadium. So both teams will have to travel, and for the Rams, travel longer than they usual home games at Tommy Oliver.
The Rams this season have their numbers up a bit from the two previous seasons, and though the results aren't showing in terms of the record, coach Tillman remains optimistic about improving.
And that's good because taking on Port St. Joe, easily one of the best 1A teams in the state, will require all the 4A Rams have, and then some!
"I think they're a tough match for anybody." Rutherford head coach Loren Tillman told us Wednesday. "Because what you look at is how many kids are in the senior class. And they've got 20 seniors. And they've got 20 seniors that can play. They're a mature team, an older team, one with experience. They've got a good coaching staff. Coach Jordan and the guys down in St. Joe, they have it all together."
That game Friday at Bozeman set for 7 and is one of several we'll feature on Friday Night Overtime.
