Two more seniors, Akkos and Torbett have their say

PANAMA CITY/MARIANNA, FL (WJHG/WECP) Two more area seniors get to have their say about missing out on the best part of their senior seasons.

Innovations Federal Credit Union Senior Sports Spotlight

The first is Bay senior softball player Tiffany Akkos who writes to me "What I love about softball is the teamwork you have to be good at to succeed! I love the communicating and yelling in the dugout. I love the huddles for a homerun hit. I miss everyone and I miss the feeling of putting my cleats on and feeling the leather of my glove, i miss the satisfying feeling of hitting the ball when at bat, and most of all I miss my team!"

Our second senior Spotlight shines on Caleb Torbett, a senior baseball player for coach Bobby Hughes and the Marianna Bulldogs!

"There's five of us seniors and we all have a passion for the game, we all enjoy it. So it's pretty upsetting."

Caleb talking about seeing their season end just 8 games in!

Caleb, along with teammate Wilton Pittman signed with Coastal Alabama, so he'll play on the Juco level!

"That definitely helps, me and Wilton talked about it. At least it's really not our last baseball game ever. We get to play again. But it kind of opens our eyes that you never know when it can end. Because the same thing that happened to us happened to Juco college and Division One so you never know."
