The Senior Sports Spotlight shines on two more area ballplayers. The first is Blountstown baseball senior Jace Porter.

Jace a 4 year Varsity Starter Under Coach Horne, a catcher and pitcher who's set to move on to Andrew College to play ball in the fall.

He writes to me "What I love about the sport of Baseball is everything, for as long as I can remember Baseball has been a second home for me, it has opened many doors to opportunities in my life that wouldn't have been possible without the sport."

"I miss every aspect of Baseball and was really trying to soak in every last bit of my senior season. I felt that we had a really good squad this year with a chance of making a run at a state title. I will forever be thankful for the years I spent in the program under Coach Horne."

"I wish all my teammates, and Players all across the country whose senior seasons that have been affected success as we all move into the next chapter of our lives."

Our next Senior Spotlight shines here on Mosley senior lifter James Padot.

James a football player by heart. He tells me he joined the weightlifting team simply to continue to compete, knowing once football season ended, that would all he had left in terms of competition.

James writes "I love the grind in the weight room and the feeling that I'm progressing in something that's bigger than just a team sport. I was improving my body, my health, and my mind. Training in the weight room did much more than make me stronger physically. I miss the routine feeling of showing up every day to work out in the weight room and preparing myself for the next competitive meet. My whole life I've been involved in competitive sports, whether it was baseball or football or even soccer when I was younger. Now that the seasons are over, and weightlifting season was ripped away from me where I had a good shot at placing in county and maybe even district, I miss the competitive grind more than ever."
